Camping and Rafting in Rishikesh
An overnight stay can make a rafting visit less rushed, but a camping-and-rafting package contains two different services. Check the accommodation as carefully as the river trip. A scenic photograph does not confirm the facilities, location or rafting arrangement.
Ask about available combinations
Check the stay first
Ask for the property name, actual map pin and accommodation type. Clarify whether you are booking a tent, cottage, dormitory or room, and how many people share it. Check bathroom arrangements, meals, drinking water, power, parking and accessibility.
Do not assume that a property advertised as “riverside” offers private river access, a permitted riverside camp or a rafting launch at the accommodation. Ask what the description means in practice.
Check the rafting element separately
The package should identify the proposed route, screening requirements and transfer plan. “Rafting included” is incomplete without a start, finish and operating arrangement. Read routes and safety before confirming.
If some people cannot raft, ask whether the stay can still be booked and how the price changes. Accommodation participation and rafting eligibility are separate questions.

Leave space between activities
Do not schedule a late check-in, early departure and a long river outing without checking the full timings. Build time for dry clothes, meals and travel. See the two-day itinerary for a flexible structure.
Respect local rules and property requirements. Take your waste away appropriately, avoid loud disturbance and do not enter the river from the property unless the relevant activity is expressly permitted and supervised.
What if rafting cannot operate?
Ask before paying whether the accommodation booking remains valid, whether the rafting portion is refunded or rescheduled and how any package discount is handled. The answer should be written in your booking terms, not left to an assumption.
