Ask how photographs are taken, priced and delivered before bringing a phone or camera into a raft. A waterproof case does not guarantee protection from loss, impact or a river incident. The guide's instructions and your ability to participate come first.
Ask about the trip's photo service
Our photos and videos cost extra. Confirm the charge, recording arrangements and delivery before booking. A waterproof phone bag is available, but it is not a guarantee against damage or loss. Ask who records them, how delivery works and what happens if weather, equipment or trip conditions prevent recording.
If you want a particular type of footage, ask before paying rather than assuming a photograph in an advertisement represents the service on every departure.
Personal devices need permission
Ask whether a phone, action camera or mount is permitted and how it must be handled. Do not attach equipment to a helmet or buoyancy aid without the operator's approval. An accessory should not interfere with fit, movement or rescue procedures.
No pouch or strap eliminates the chance of loss. Decide whether bringing the device is worth that risk, and keep essential travel information available elsewhere.
Focus during instructions and rapids
Do not miss the briefing while setting up a camera. Keep hands and attention available for the guide's commands. Do not stand, change seats or remove safety equipment for a better angle.
Ask the crew when, if at all, taking personal photographs is appropriate. Quiet water still requires attention and is not automatic permission to use a device.
Consent and sharing
If your group plans to post footage, ask participants before sharing identifiable images. For children, involve the appropriate parent or guardian. Do not assume that joining a trip means consenting to commercial promotion.
Ask the provider about its photo policy and how to request help with a file or privacy concern. The privacy page should explain the website's own practices.
Keep valuables to a minimum
Leave unnecessary devices, wallets and jewellery at your stay where practical. Confirm dry-storage arrangements for what you must bring. Use the packing checklist.
Before booking, review inclusions and extras and safety guidance. Ask about photography as part of your trip enquiry.
