Plan your arrival around the confirmed reporting point, not simply “Rishikesh” on a map. Ask how you reach the meeting area, whether transfers are included and how much buffer is needed before the departure. Check current transport schedules for your travel date.

Arriving by road

If driving or using a taxi, give the driver the actual reporting pin. Ask the booking team about parking, vehicle access and where your car remains while you raft. The start and finish may differ, so agree how you return to it.

For travel from Delhi, Haridwar or Dehradun, check current road conditions and allow for traffic. General journey times are estimates, not guarantees for your departure.

Arriving by rail

Choose the station and service that fit your itinerary, then arrange the onward journey to the meeting point. Check the current timetable and allow for station exit, luggage and road travel.

An arrival time at a station is not your reporting time at the rafting departure. For an early trip, consider arriving the previous day rather than relying on a tight connection.

Arriving by air

For flights through the Dehradun area, confirm airport transport and leave a margin for baggage and the road journey. Do not book a river departure based only on scheduled landing time.

If you fly out after rafting, work backwards from the airline's reporting requirements and add the full outing and transfer buffer. A flexible plan can prevent a stressful connection.

Staying overnight

A stay before the trip gives you time to settle in and confirm instructions. Choose the accommodation location with transport in mind. A property near town sights may still need a transfer to an upstream launch.

Read Tapovan and Lakshman Jhula pickup planning and the two-day itinerary.
